Gombe National Park

Gombe National Park

People who love fauna, especially primates, know that this small park, actually the smallest of Tanzania, has been Jane Goodall’s house for decades; this ethologist settled there during 1960s to study chimpanzees.

Gombe National Park is a small tropical rainforest located in the northern area of Lake Tanganyica.

The trip focuses exactly on the sighting of chimpanzees which are quite used to humans. For this reason, it is certain that you will meet them, although you have only an hour excursion. This timing is chosen by the authorities in order not to disturb them, but especially not to transmit them human diseases.

You can also see other primates in Gombe National Park, such as olive baboons, red colobuses and blue monkeys.
