Saadani National Park with a surface of 1,100 km2, it is a unique national park, as it includes three different environments: the land, the river and the sea. You can walk through the tropical rainforest, the savannah, the miombo forest as well as the mangrove forest.
Several species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians live here.
Visiting the park is not so easy due to the low number of paths and because they become inaccessible when it rains.
The river Wami flows along the park boundary. Here you can go on an exciting tour by boat, highly recommended to those who are interested in birding. Flamingos, storks, vultures and eagles. The more common mammals are elephants, hippos and antelopes, while among reptiles you can admire, apart from crocodiles, monitors.
The main aim of Saadani National Park is to protect dolphins’ and green tortoises’ communities.
