GROUP SAFARI TRAVEL PROGRAMME
Departure from Italy and overnight flight.
At Kilimanjaro International Airport you meet your guide and transfer to the town of Arusha. The drive takes approximately one hour. Arusha lies at an altitude of 1,350 metres, on the slopes of Mount Meru, which towers in the national park named after the city, and the climate is mild all year round.
Transfer to Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Manyara and safari in the park with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight in Karatu village to get closer to the Serengeti.
Lake Manyara National Park, located at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment, is famous for its diverse ecosystems, spectacular vistas and rich wildlife.
The lake is home to thousands of flamingos, attracted by its algae, the tree lions for which the park is famous, and a rich birdlife with over 400 species of birds, including pelicans, storks and kingfishers. Other animals present include elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos and baboons.
The dramatic cliffs of the Rift Valley provide a spectacular backdrop to dense, lush forests, supported by underground springs. The lake’s variable water levels create unique ecosystems along the shores, which during the rainy season are ideal for a canoe trip.
The safari starts early to take advantage of the cooler hours when the animals are most active.
Lunch is taken in one of the picnic areas, surrounded by the sounds of nature. The diversity of the park’s environments ensures an extraordinary range of flora and fauna in a relatively small area.
Lake Manyara is a perfect destination for those seeking a combination of tranquillity, breathtaking scenery and close encounters with wildlife.
Central Serengeti and safari in the park with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in the park.
The Serengeti National Park is one of the most iconic parks in the world, renowned for its spectacular biodiversity and annual ungulate migrations.
It covers some 15,000 square kilometres of savannah, grass plains, woodlands and hills, offering refuge to a wide range of wildlife, including the big five: lions, leopards, elephants, black rhinos and buffalo.
The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai language and means ‘endless plain’.
A day on the Serengeti starts early to take advantage of the cooler hours, when the animals are most active. An early morning safari offers the chance to spot predators such as lions and cheetahs on the hunt, while herds of herbivores graze peacefully.
Sunrise paints the sky in spectacular colours, creating a magical atmosphere.
During the day, you can explore the vast plains, encountering elephants watering in the rivers or giraffes grazing in the acacia trees.
Birdwatchers can observe species such as the crowned crane or the hornbill.
With the sun at its peak, one stops at a picnic area for lunch and a rest. Animals, such as lions, tend to rest in the shade during these hot hours.
In the afternoon, a second safari offers new opportunities for sightings, often near waterways. Hippos and crocodiles can be seen here, while elephants cool off.
The sunsets in the Serengeti are unforgettable, with the sun setting behind the horizon, colouring everything golden.
After returning, the evening is spent in the tented camp, with dinner under the starry sky.
The Serengeti is a place where nature reigns supreme, offering a continuous spectacle of wild life and breathtaking scenery.
A typical day in the Mara area, north of the Serengeti, is an immersive experience in the African wilderness. As the sun rises, the landscape lights up in warm golden hues, while the savannah awakens with the sounds of animals: the roar of a lion in the distance, the call of birds and the sound of zebras moving in packs.
During the day, safaris offer the chance to spot the big five and many other species, such as giraffe antelopes and hyenas.
When the herds of the Great Migration are in the Mara area, it is possible to witness the spectacular passage of thousands of wildebeest and zebra across the crocodile-infested river.
At sunset, the sky is painted orange and red, creating breathtaking scenery perfect for their grazing.
Dinner and overnight stay in the park and, weather permitting, the evening can be spent around the campfire under a starry sky, immersed in the sounds of the night savannah.
Central Serengeti and safari in the park with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in the park.
As we drive along the tracks in the jeep, we look around and see all the peculiarities that our imagination associates by default with the savannah: vast open spaces, phlegmatic felines resting, herds of herbivores scattered everywhere, mammoth and slow-moving elephants, elegant giraffes and acacias, the characteristic umbrella-shaped thorny trees that characterise the savannah.
In the Serengeti, the plants are numerous and sometimes truly unique. Different types of acacia, the sausage tree, the poisonous euphorbia candelabrum and the sycamore fig are just a few examples.
The park is also dotted with kopjes, large granite formations that have been shaped over time by wind and rain. There are many of them, the most famous of which are the Simba Kopjes (simba means lion in Swahili), so called because lions like to lie on them and enjoy the cool breezes, and the Maasai Kopjes.
A safari in the Ngorongoro Crater offers an unforgettable wilderness immersion experience.
The day starts early to take advantage of the cooler hours, when the animals are most active. You descend the slopes of the crater, admiring the breathtaking view of this volcanic caldera.
During the safari you stop at a safe area for a picnic lunch surrounded by nature.
In the afternoon, you proceed on another safari, perhaps concentrating on different areas to spot other animals. In addition, you can visit a nearby Maasai village.
The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in the village of Karatu.
Tarangire and safari in the park with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in the park.
Tarangire National Park is known for its iconic baobabs, large elephant herds and rich biodiversity.
The day begins early, with a safari to observe the animals as they move through the cooler hours. Tarangire is famous for its elephants, often spotted in large groups, and for the presence of predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards, but there are also giraffes, zebras and antelopes.
Lunch is eaten in picnic areas, surrounded by the beauty of the savannah.
In the late afternoon, the lights of sunset transform the landscape, creating a magical atmosphere for photographs.
During the dry season, from June to October, the Tarangire River attracts huge herds of elephants, making the park one of the best places in Africa to spot them. In addition to the classic savannah animals, the park is home to rarer species such as the oryx and the gerenuk, the giraffe gazelle.
The majestic baobabs that dot the landscape provide a unique and fascinating backdrop. The Tarangire is a must for anyone seeking an authentic wilderness experience.
On the last day we retrace, this time with a new spirit and awareness, the road we took to reach these places, but the eyes with which we look at the landscape have changed. The parks are a feather in the cap for the care with which they are managed, but the villages and people are also fantastic.
The guide who has accompanied you throughout the safari will take you to the airport for your journey back to Europe.
