To enter Tanzania you need to have a passport valid for at least six months and with two blank pages and a TOURIST VISA.

The Tanzanian Government, for mainland Tanzania, still offers the possibility of obtaining the visa on arrival at the offices of international airports such as Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro, however the advice is to do it online before departure: it greatly speeds up exit procedures.

Once you have entered the portal, in English, you follow the instructions on the various pages with your data and, where necessary, you give the Tour Operator’s contact details. Payment is made by credit card and the cost is 50 dollars.
THE TIMINGS
Better to proceed a few weeks before departure and take screenshots of the payment and acceptance confirmation pages: the visa is sent via email to the address you provided, but in case of non-receipt, the payment confirmation and the protocol number help them with processing upon arrival.
ENTRY VISA FOR ZANZIBAR
If after a safari you wish to spend a few days in the islands, the visa for mainland Tanzania is also valid for entry to Zanzibar, but if you only want to go to the seaside, the Zanzibar Government has decided to remove visas made at the airport on arrival and accepts exclusively procedures and visas done online.
